Rose McCarter hits the umpiring big league
Cumberland umpire Rose McCarter in November 2009 umpired Mavericks v. Team Bath: two super league teams, possibly the best two teams in the country apart from the national teams. This is very encouraging for the many Cumberland officials, both umpires and coaches. Well done to Rose who is making her way up the umpiring ranks with amazing speed and enthusiasm.

Cumberland teams ride high
After the weekend of 14th / 15th November, Cumberland teams are riding high! Our A team is currently second in L&SE Regional 1; the Bs are top in North London Premier; and also in North London Premier, Cumberland C team took on Poly A and won. Poly are one of the strongest teams in the North London Netball League and beating them for the first time ever is a huge achievement for the Cs. The girls came back from a 1 goal deficit at three-quarter time to win 35-32. Well done to captain Jane Whitefield, and player of the match Helen Fish.
British Military Fitness take training!
On Wednesday 21st October, for one week only, British Military Fitness will be running training for Cumberland. All teams to meet at 7.15 in the carpark on Hampstead Heath. For more details, ask your captain, coach or the enquiries secretary. Don't be late!
Challenge Cup update by England Netball Magazine
The Challenge Cup is getting towards the business end of the competition, and it's getting exciting. Similar to football's FA Cup, the know-out cup sees teams large and small from around the country bid to take the national title.
National challenges: Cumberland girls face two UK tourney tests
PLAYERS from Cumberland Netball Club are gearing up for two titanic semi-final showdowns on Saturday as they bid to wrap up their most successful ever season.
The club’s ‘A’ team will be hoping to edge a step closer to successfully defending their crown when they face St Helen’s School at Northwood Sport Centre in the final four of the National Challenge Plate.
Meanwhile Cumberland’s ‘B’ team counterparts will be in Kilburn taking on Poly Netball Club in the semi-finals of the National Challenge Shield.
2009 AGM, Monday 15 June at 7pm
It is our AGM and drinks on Monday 15 June 2009. This is an opportunity for the whole club to come along and share a few drinks and to reflect on the past season. There are a few committee positions that need to be filled.

Champions of Middlesex County Tournament!
Congratulations to Cumberland A who beat Academy A in a thrilling final in the County Tournament on Sunday 10 May 09.
For the third consecutive year at the annual event, the sun shone and the same two teams were in the final, however the result was different, Cumberland won the tournament for the first time by two goals.
Facing top level opposition, Academy's squad included Super League players and was leading the scoreboard by 2 goals at half time. Cumberland's fighting spirit prevailed and the team fought back to achieve a spectacular win. Congratulations Cumberland A!
