CUMBERLAND CHRISTMAS PARTY

C Team Match Report, 08.11.08
Cumberland C team, unbeaten in the Middlesex league, faced their toughest challenge yet in a closely contested match versus Palmers Green.
Netball Olympic Bid
There are over 1 million women playing netball every week in England alone, and over 20 million playing in 70 countries worldwide.
Netball isn't currently part of the Olympic games but there is a growing campaign to get it included in the coming 2012 Olympics to be held in London.
A campaign was started earlier this year by Eboni Beckford Chambers on Facebook. The group has grown and the campaign now has the backing of England and the other Home Countries Netball Associations.

Cumberland A team took on Comets in the POLY league on Saturday at Camden Sports Ground.

Cumberland voted Club of the Year 2008
Cumberland Netball are voted Middlesex Club of the Year 2008 by the Middlesex County Netball Association.

Cumberland A team took on the highly rated Minchenden on Saturday in their third Regional match of the season. Unbeaten to date in this league Cumberland went into the match looking forward to the challenge.

Cumberland C vs Old Fincunians A
North London Netball League – Saturday 18 October
Following the team’s decisive victory over Old Fincs B last week, Cumberland took their place on court against Old Fincs A team with obvious confidence, hungry for their first win in the North London Netball League this season.
B Team Match Report, 18.10.08
Cumberland A (Club B Team) v Minchenden B
After a confident start from the Cumberland A team which saw them leading 13-5 at quarter time, Minchenden decided they needed to bring on the big guns with some regional players making their appearance on court. This resulted in some frustrating overhead passes into Minchenden’s circle, skilfully pulled in by the goal shooter. But Minchenden’s tactic did not pay off, with Cumberland fighting tooth and nail to extend their lead to 26-16 at half time.
B Team Match Report, 11.10.08
On Saturday 11th October, Cumberland B took on Academy in what turned out to be an incredible close and hard fought game.
A new combination of players was tested once again but with some solid, safe play, the team did well and managed to gel relatively quickly, starting strong and winning the first quarter 12-6.
