A Team Match Report - Saturday 12th Jan 08
Cumberland A squad faced a tough test on Saturday playing the only team they had lost to in the first half of the season.
The team were determined to beat their rivals, POLY A, and assert their position at the top of the league. After a close first quarter the team started to pull away, through good mid-court defence and pressure in the shooting circle forcing errors and creating turnover balls. The team kept focussed with their zone defence paying off frequently in the second half of the game.
Player of the match: Rebecca Squires, Goal Keeper.

B Team Match Report, Saturday 25 November 2007
On Saturday 24/11/2007, Cumberland B saw off an energetic Hyde Park B team, winning 43-13 in Middlesex league's First Division.
Cumberland B won the toss and took first centre pass. Accurate attacking and feeding from Karen Carter (C), Natalie Ekweogwu (WA, 1st half) and Kate Groucutt (WA, 2nd half) into the circle meant Cumberland took an early lead. Good holding of space by Claire Smith (GS) and semi-circle movement by Julia Hall (GA) made it hard for the opposition to intercept. Our shooters performed well under pressure by Hyde Park with a 97% conversion rate.
Cumberland Netball girls on fire with double victory
Camden based Cumberland Netball Club A team, scooped double victory this weekend in two fast paced games.
On Saturday the team saw off a young and energetic Academy B side, winning 63-13 in a premier division match in the Middlesex league.
A strong performance in defence, led by Natalie Cowie was backed up by a patient and accurate attacking display. Mid court stability on attack and intense pressure on defence created numerous turnovers which were well converted by the team.

Nutrition is important. Claire Smith shares some nutritional guidelines with fellow club members.
You can have all the netball skills in the world, but without the proper fuel, you'll get tired
quickly and your performance will suffer. You will only improve as a player if you eat and drink
the right things before, during and after a match.

Cumberland launches new look website and identity
Our new identity symbolizes our independence from Cumberland Lawn & Tennis Club and coincides with our move to new facilities in Camden Town. Designed by Ben Stephens, the flower has 7 petals representing the number of players in a netball team. The petal pointing northwest is a different colour and emphasises that we are based in NW1, unlike the name suggests. We kept the name as it has a lot of equity associated with it. Our sincerest thank you to Ben for the identity and to Paul Champion for designing & building our website.
