Challenge Cup update by England Netball Magazine
The Challenge Cup is getting towards the business end of the competition, and it's getting exciting. Similar to football's FA Cup, the know-out cup sees teams large and small from around the country bid to take the national title.
Also well underway are the Challenge Plate and Challenge Shield competitions, for teams knocked out in the first round of the Challenge Cup. These matches are where the smaller clubs really start to shine, away from the might of the nationally-recognised sides. Middlesex's Cumberland NC are a force to be reckoned with in the tournament, as two sides from the club made quarter-finals - the Ateam in the Plate and B team in the Shield.
The goal for the remaining teams in the Cup, Plate and Shield competition is the Finals Day. This year, the venue is the Walsall Campus of Wolverhampton University, and the big day is 28th June.
